About SLMQ
A Pioneer Community Association, established in 2001, under the Patronage of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Qatar.
In 2001, twelve likeminded individuals came together to create a non-profit association which would bring together all Muslim Sri Lankan families living in Qatar under one community. What began with a handful of families in its year of inception, today consists of over 150+ families. Through a well-established network spanning across government ministries, private organizations and other social and religious associations in Qatar, the SLMQ enforces its key role – community building and development. SLMQ’s contribution towards the Sri Lankan Muslim community, in Qatar and Sri Lanka has been recognized and appreciated in both countries. The role of the Majlis and its Executive Committee are governed by a Charter, while the primary source for decision making and conduct is based on Islamic values and teachingsGuiding Principles of SLMQ
To Lead the Sri Lankan Muslim community as a forum in its unity, prosperity and growth.

To bring all Sri Lankan Muslim families resident in Qatar under a common platform and conduct activities of education, religious, cultural and charitable backgrounds.

To develop and strengthen cordial ties among families and communities and other associations thereby deriving greater benefit for the community.
