The Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ) is a premier community organization established in 2001 to serve the Sri Lankan Muslim community residing in Qatar. What began with a handful of families has grown into a vibrant community of over 1000 families.
SLMQ operates under the esteemed patronage of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Qatar and maintains strong partnerships with government ministries, private organizations, and social associations throughout Qatar. Our community is built on the principles of unity, mutual support, and Islamic values.
We organize educational programs, religious events, cultural celebrations, charitable initiatives, and welfare activities that benefit both our community in Qatar and our homeland, Sri Lanka.
Twelve visionary individuals came together to establish SLMQ, creating a unified platform for Sri Lankan Muslim families in Qatar.
SLMQ grew to over 100 families and established formal partnerships with the Sri Lankan Embassy and Qatari institutions.
Over 1000 families, 500+ events, and a legacy of community service spanning 25 years.
To lead the Sri Lankan Muslim community as a forum in its unity, prosperity and growth, fostering a vibrant and cohesive community in Qatar.
To bring all Sri Lankan Muslim families resident in Qatar under a common platform and conduct activities of educational, religious, cultural and charitable backgrounds.
Islamic principles, unity, integrity, service, transparency, and compassion guide every decision and action of the Majlis.
