The year 2011 marked a significant milestone in the journey of the Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar as the organization celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Alongside commemorating a decade of service, the year was enriched with a variety of religious and cultural activities that brought families and community members together, strengthening bonds of faith, friendship, and identity.

A major highlight of the year was the continued success of the Joint Quran Class Programme, following the merger of the SLMQ and Sri Lanka Islamic Centre Quran classes. This collaboration created a vibrant learning environment for nearly two hundred students and became an important platform for nurturing Islamic values among the younger generation while fostering closer community ties.

The organization also conducted several inspiring Public Bayan Programmes, featuring renowned scholars such as Dr. Abdul Fatah and Dr. Bilal Philips. These well-attended gatherings offered valuable spiritual guidance and encouraged participants to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings and contemporary religious issues.

During the blessed month of Ramadan, members came together through a series of meaningful Ifthar Programmes. These gatherings provided opportunities for worshippers to break their fast collectively, strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and reinforcing the values of compassion, gratitude, and unity associated with the holy month.

Religious observances continued with the organization of Eid Prayers and the Eid-Al-Adha Prayer and Ijtima Programme, conducted in collaboration with partner organizations. These occasions brought together large numbers of worshippers in a shared atmosphere of devotion, reflection, and celebration. The events further strengthened the religious bonds within the Sri Lankan Muslim community in Qatar.

One of the most anticipated cultural celebrations of the year was Eid Fiesta 2011, which provided families with an opportunity to gather in a festive setting after the religious celebrations. The event encouraged social interaction, family participation, and community engagement while preserving cherished cultural traditions.

A notable addition to the annual calendar was the inaugural Sisters Day, a special event designed and organized by women for women. The programme featured a variety of enjoyable activities and provided a welcoming space for fellowship, participation, and cultural interaction among female members of the community. The success of this initiative reflected the growing inclusiveness and vibrancy of the organization’s activities.

Another memorable occasion during the year was the Joint Quran Class Annual Prize-Giving Day, held for the first time following the merger of the Quran classes. The event celebrated student achievements and encouraged continued participation in religious learning while bringing together students, parents, and educators in a spirit of appreciation and encouragement.

As Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar completed its first decade of service, 2011 stood out as a year that successfully blended religious enrichment with cultural engagement. Through initiatives such as the Public Bayan Programmes, Ramadan Ifthar Gatherings, Eid Celebrations, Sisters Day, Joint Quran Class Activities, and Eid Fiesta 2011, the organization continued to strengthen its mission of fostering faith, unity, and cultural harmony among Sri Lankan Muslim families in Qatar.
