The year 2013 was marked by a series of meaningful religious and cultural initiatives that reinforced the spirit of unity among Sri Lankan Muslims living in Qatar. Through gatherings, celebrations, public programmes, and community engagement activities, Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar continued to create opportunities for members to strengthen their faith, preserve cultural traditions, and build lasting relationships within the community.

One of the year's significant occasions was the SLMQ Annual Symposium 2012, held as the organization's flagship gathering. The event featured internationally renowned scholar Mufti Ismail Musa Menk, who delivered an inspiring keynote address on "Unity & Brotherhood", emphasizing the importance of harmony, mutual respect, and collective responsibility within the Muslim community. The symposium brought together members, families, and distinguished guests in an atmosphere of reflection and fellowship.

During Ramadan 2012, the organization conducted a series of Ifthar Programmes for members and the wider community. These gatherings provided a valuable opportunity for worshippers to break their fast together, fostering brotherhood and reinforcing the spiritual significance of the holy month. The events strengthened community ties and encouraged collective participation in acts of worship.

Religious observances continued through the organization of Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha Prayers at the Sri Lankan Embassy premises. These occasions united families and worshippers in a shared expression of faith and gratitude, creating memorable moments of celebration and spiritual reflection.

A popular cultural highlight of the year was the SLMQ Cookery Challenge 2012, which brought together members in a friendly and engaging environment. Participants showcased their culinary talents while celebrating the rich traditions of Sri Lankan cuisine. The event also featured a lively Live Salad Competition for Men, adding excitement and encouraging broader community participation.

The year also witnessed the successful launch and growth of the SLMQ BWING, an initiative designed to engage the wider Sri Lankan community in Qatar. Through programmes such as "The Way to Happiness", the BWING created opportunities for meaningful interaction, spiritual enrichment, and community bonding among participants.

Several well-attended public programmes further enriched the community throughout the year. Events such as "Responsibilities of Today's Youth", "Today's Challenges and Responsibilities of Muslim Ummah", and "Sri Lankan Muslims and Contemporary Undertakings" encouraged thoughtful discussion on faith, identity, and contemporary issues affecting the Muslim community. These gatherings provided a platform for dialogue while strengthening communal understanding and solidarity.

A landmark initiative introduced during the year was the first-ever SLMQ Community Meeting, which brought together representatives from various Sri Lankan groups in Qatar. The gathering promoted cooperation, mutual understanding, and collective engagement on matters of common interest, demonstrating the organization's commitment to fostering unity across the broader community.

Through activities such as the Annual Symposium, Ramadan Ifthar Programmes, Eid Celebrations, Cookery Challenge, BWING Programmes, and the pioneering Community Meeting, the year 2013 reflected Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar's dedication to strengthening religious values, cultural identity, and community cohesion. These initiatives continued to nurture a vibrant and united Sri Lankan Muslim community in Qatar while preserving the traditions and principles that bring people together.
